But secretly, he is plotting to kill her. Pretending that he loves Nefertiti, Thutmos visits her everyday and brings her gifts. But before she is put to death, he decides to wait until Pharaoh gets back. With no room to move, Thutmos condemns Nefertiti to death. The high priest of Amun even accuses Nefertiti of sorcery. Supposed evidence is the paw print on her dress, blood, and the scratches on the dress. Nefertiti suddenly is taken from her rooms and put on trial for killing Thutmos's cat, Tia Mieu. Then the royal family decides to take a trip to a distant country and leave Thutmos in charge. The palace is in an uproar, and magicians, priests, and many other people are called to help the Pharaoh. Thinking that Nefertiti is being disloyal to him, Thutmos tries to woo her. The Queen has many spies, and they have found out about their friendship. Nefertiti seems to have found a bright spot in a fallen world, until Queen Tiye ruins it. They spend time together, and enjoy each others company. Alone, and without any friends except a child, Nava, Nefertiti searches out Amenophis, the younger son of Queen Tiye and the Pharaoh. He's arrogant, only looks out for himself, thinks everybody is plotting against him, and only speaks to Nefertiti when he has too. This is a good read! 5 stars from me! AND ESTHER KEEP ON WRITING. Esther Friesner does a great job with her books, turning powerful women from history, into these some what modern girls with great stories to tell. This book is a good middle school read, with plenty of action and twists! It is a must read for girls with any interest in powerful women through history. This books leads you right of a cliff! What will happen? Although she can write, she has no contact with her father and sister. Within the first month she find herself getting lonely. She, the aunt, order Nefertiti to marry her first born son. When Nefertiti's Aunt learned of her beauty, she summons her to her palace. Nava is a harp player, and was a singer, but once she learn of her sisters death, she stopped speaking. She ends up with her sister, slave girl's sister named Nava.

but the priests, said she is already gone. The next day she heads to the palace to see if she could save the girl. Show More is now having to die because she, slave girl, save her.
